Shogo Asano, high school slugger of Takamatsu Shogyo with home run No.68, was drafted first by the Yomiuri Giants and the Hanshin Tigers. As a result of the lottery, the Giants won the negotiating rights to him.
Also, the Hokkaido Nipponham Fighters selected Gosuke Kato with a Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets in the third draft round. Kato is 28 and made his big league debut with the Toronto Blue Jays to have his first career hit this April. But he played for the Triple-A team form this May after Toronto waived him just after his debut. I don't know which option will be better for him to join NPB or stay in American baseball. I want to pay attention to his decision-making. About today's MLB, Two games of the League Championship Series were held in Houston and San Diego. The Astros beat the Yankees 4-2 in the ALCS Game 1. The Padres topped the Phillies 8-5 in the NLCS Game 2 to tie the Series 1-1. So, I uploaded highlights movies on my Web to quickly get their game information below.
