 The Mariners beat the Astros, 9-0 to revenge on them, who had a shutout win yesterday. Seattle overcome a bullpen game with seven pitchers’ scoreless pitching and 3 homers, taking two of three in this series from Houston at Minute Maid Park.

About the Mariners’ defense, Rookie right hander, Matt Festa had his first career start and retired the first three batters perfectly. Next reliever, Casey Lawrence gave up just one hit in the 2nd to 4th. Adam Warren, Shawn Armstrong, Zach Duke, Justin Grimm, and Roenis Elias each pitched an inning to close it out. 

About the offense, in the 1st, Mitch Haniger hit a lead-off single off Astros starter Dallas Keuchel and Robinson Cano’s single scoured Haniger to open the game, 1-0. They added more two runs with Keuchel’s wild pitch and so on to have a good start. 

Robinson Cano drove in the fourth win with a double and Nelson Cruz hit a single by which Cano scoured to expand a lead to 5-0 in the 5th. 

 Kyle Seager in the 6th, Mitch Haniger in the 7th, and Guillermo Heredia in the 8th respectively hit solo homers to help the bullpen keeping scoreless innings to secure a victory. 

The American League West lead Houston with the 1st place had, reduced to four games in front of Oakland with a winning over LAA, 10-0.

An expected starter was James Paxton, who was not ready to take the mound yet because of a bout of flu and pneumonia last week. Rookie Matt Festa makes his first MLB start. Seattle lost in shutout to Houston, 7-0 yesterday, but they took the first, 4-1 in the series. Today the Mariners have a series final with the final of the season against the Astros.
The win-loss record of the Mariners stands at 83 to 68.
They stand the 3rd place in the #AmericanLeagueWest at the beginning of the game.
