The Mariners took the rubber and recorded their season-high 7th straight victory. It marks Seattle's first winning streak of at least 7 games since an 8-game win streak, Sept. 7-14, 2016. Also, they have swept back-to-back series for the first time since Sept. 9-14, 2016 (3 games at OAK and 3 games at LAA).
The win has narrowed the game behind between Astros and them to 1/2 game.

 Starting pitcher, James Paxton threw very well on Canada Day 🇨🇦.     He allowed only 2 hits and 2 walks and got 11 strikeouts over eight scoreless innings and notched up his eighth win. In the Last inning, Edwin Diaz replaced James Paxton and earned his MLB-leading 32nd save. 
 About the offense, Ben Gamel hit a RBI single to left field for the only run in this game. 

July 2 is off. M’s have a three game set over the #LosAngeles #Angels at Safeco Field from July 4.
