The Mariners went back to home and had a opener of three game series against the Royals. 

Today's starting pitcher, Marco Gonzales, pitched very well, allowed H 6, ER 1 and got SO 7. He earned his eighth victory with his first complete-game win of his career.

About an offense, M’s got the first score with Mitch Haniger’s 17th two-run homer in the fourth inning. Mike Zunino hit his 12th solo homer on a fly ball to left field in the fifth inning. In the seventh inning, Jean Segura singled with a RBI on a ground ball to left field. They got 4 runs to expand a lead for Gonzales.

The Astros, the first place in the American League West, lost the game vs. the Rays, 3-2. The game behind between Houston and Seattle has been reduced to 2.5 from 3.5.
