  Rangers earning rung at an early stage, took a rain-shortened game over Mariners. Adrian Beltre with his 476th HR and 5 RBIs helped Rangers to win.  

 The Mariners beat the Astros, 9-0 to revenge on them, who had a shutout win yesterday. Seattle overcome a bullpen game with seven pitchers’ scoreless pitching and 3 homers, taking two of three in this series from Houston at Minute Maid Park.

About the Mariners’ defense, in the first inning, they lost 3 runs early. Starter Erasmo Ramirez gave up Adrian Beltre, a three-run homer, his 476th career home run. Ramirez again allowed Beltre to hit a two-run single, giving up the lead, 5-0. Roenis Elias who relieved Ramirez, lost a run by Jurickson Profar’s single in the fourth. James Pazos had a solo homer by Joey Gallo, his 38th of the season to expand the lead to 8-2 in the sixth. 

About the offense, in the fifth after the Mariners was held scoreless by the Rangers bullpen in the first four innings, Mitch Haniger’s ground-out scoured Dee Gordon. Mike Zunino hit a RBI double to have M’s second run in the  sixth. Also, in the seventh Jean Segura hit a RBI single for their third run. 

Mitch Haniger kept his hitting streak to ten games as he hit a double in the seventh. Robinson Cano, who recently continued to hit well, went 2-for-3 to hike his batting average to .295. 

Unfortunately, during the top of the seventh after the Mariners had runs in three consecutive innings, the game was decided to call a rain-shortened one after a rain delay of 1 : 09. 

The loss moved Seattle’s Wild Card elimination number to two. Today Oakland in front of Seattle in the WC race won the game against Minnesota. 
They have only nine games remained. Seattle hasn’t participated in the postseason since 2001 with Ichiro Suzuki.
