The representatives meeting of all 12 professional baseball clubs has held in Tokyo on March 9 JST. It has decided to postpone an opening day of NPB.  It was originally March 30. Nothing has decided except the postponement. 

After the meeting, NPB commissioner, Saito, said,” The Firm teams will have matches without prospectors until the end of March. The first teams will aim to start the season during April. Now the number of people infected with new coronavirus is increasing more and more.”

The second meeting of the Liaison Committee Regarding Countermeasure with NPB and J League held today as well. Experts recommended that NPB’s opening day be put off. 

NPB and J League announced at a press conference on March 2, JST that they have Jointly established the Liaison Committee Regarding Countermeasure for New Coronavirus. J League is a Japanese professional soccer league. 



They will share information and countermeasures by having several experts and summarize an opinion by the middle of March. Both baseball and soccer are very popular sports in Japan. Now when spreading of New coronavirus is significantly concerned, both big sports associations work together to prevent from spreading. Also, they add those concerned with other sports to the committee as observers. And, the contents of the meeting will be disclosed on the day. 



NPB has already decided on February 26 that all remaining 72 exhibition games and spring educational league games are without spectators. J League has also decided on February 25 to postpone its 94 official games scheduled by March 15.

NPB’s official games are scheduled to start on March 20 and J League wants to restart their official games from March 18. But, they probably have no idea so far about what is going on.

日本野球機構とJリーグが共同で「新型コロナウィルス対策連絡会議」を設立することを日本時間３月２日に記者会見を開き、発表した。Jリーグは日本のプロサッカーリーグを指す。


複数人の専門家を交えて、情報や対策を共有し、３月中旬に意見書をまとめる予定だ。野球とサッカーは日本では人気のあるスポーツで、新型コロナウィルスの拡大が懸念される今、この両者が協力して、その拡大防止策を協議していくと見られる。また、他競技の関係者のオブザーバー参加を認める方向で、会議内容の情報公開も即日に行うとのことだ。


日本野球機構は、すでに２月２６日に、全オープン戦７２試合と春季教育リーグを無観客試合とすることを決定している。Jリーグも、２月２５日に３月１５日までの公式戦９４試合の延期を決定している。


プロ野球は、３月２０日開幕を予定しており、Jリーグは同１８日の再開を目指しているが、今季、両スポーツがどのように進められるかは不透明な状況だ。
