2019 Premier 12 is now in progress and we can see many Exciting games. So, I want to look back the last competition, 2015 Premier 12. Japan resulted in the 3rd place. But, Japan had the best records in both defense and offense. The number of losses was just one.

Why Japan was the 3rd place?

This is because Premier 12 consists of a league match as an opening round and a deciding tournament from a quarterfinal as a knockout stage. Japan had never lost until the quarterfinal. They unfortunately had the only defeat to Korea in the semifinals. I think the last time Japan won baseball, but lost to the system.

なぜ、日本は3位だったのか？

これは、オープニングラウンドがリーグ戦であり、準々決勝以降の決勝ラウンドがトーナメントというスタイルの妙である。日本は、リーグ戦、準々決勝と無敗で勝ち上がったが、トーナメントの準決勝で韓国相手に大会唯一の黒星を喫し、成績は他を圧倒していたにもかかわらず優勝を逃した。前回、日本は野球に勝って、システムに負けたと言えるかも知れない。
