The Yomiuri acquires Gerardo Parra

The Yomiuri announced on November 20 that they have agreed to a one-year, 162 million yen contract with Gerardo Parra. 

The outfielder was from Venezuela. He made his MLB debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009. Since his debut, he played for the Brewers, the Orioles, Rockies, Giants and Nationals who became their first victory of the World Series in 2019. 


​The 32-year-old has had .276 with 88 homers and 522 RBIs in 1466 games through his whole major career. He won a two-time, Gold Glove Award.

He commented via the club, “I want to keep in my mind to play energetically for the fans and team. I’ll contribute to victory.
