3/27/2023 0 Comments 【Major Leaguer Resume Vol.104】“Never give up with Pride!!”:Yoshi Tsutsugo(Texas Rangers’ affiliate)■Today’s player
Today’s player is the Texas Rangers’ affiliate infielder, Yoshi Tsutsugo. ■The KAISPO's baseball analyst comments “In 2019, Tsutsugo signed with the Tampa Bay Rays of MLB. He played three seasons with the Rays, the Dodgers, and the Pirates. Tsutsugo signed with the Rangers to a minor league contract this January. He has struggled to succeed in the MLB consistently, batting just .197 with 18 home runs and 75 RBI in 640 plate appearances. His strength is a slugging power. But it could be better for him to make good contact to enhance the reliability of his batting and raise his batting average until getting the hang of it. I hope he can make his skills blossom.” ■Story Yoshi Tsutsugo is a professional baseball player from Japan. He was born on November 26, 1991, in Hashimoto, Wakayama, Japan. Tsutsugo is a left-handed batter and right-handed thrower who primarily plays outfield and first base. Tsutsugo began his professional baseball career in Japan in 2010 with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He quickly became a talented player, earning a home run and RBI leader in 2016. The left-handed hitter signed with the Tampa Bay Rays in December 2019. He has played for the Rays, the Dodgers, and the Pirates since his big league debut on July 24, 2020. 31-year-old hitter signed a minor league contract with the Rangers on January 15, 2023, and was invited to their spring training. ■MLB Career Stats At the end of the 2022 season, Tsutsugo has logged .197 with 18 homers and 75 RBIs in his three MLB seasons.
