2022 NL Cy Young Award winner, Sandy Alcantara's pitching movie, "small delivery, big break"

Today's player is the Miami Marlins' pitcher Sandy Alcantara, now the 2022 National League Cy Young Award winner.


In 2013, St.Louis acquired Alcantara from the Dominican Republic as an international free agent before he joined Miami 2017 off-season for a trade. The 27-year-old righty made his Major League debut in 2017.


Alcantara appeared in 32 games and brilliantly finished the 2022 season with 14-9, a 2.28 ERA, and 207 strikeouts across 228 2/3 innings, the most in MLB. Also, he led the big league in complete games with six, including a shutout.


The two-time All-Star was named the NL Cy Young winner with a unanimous vote for the first time in his career.
