2023 WBC: Star player vol.1: Crayton Kershaw, possible pitcher to join the USA

Today I want to introduce the Los Angeles Dodgers’ ace, Clayton Kershaw. He is a possible player to join the USA team in the 2023 WBC.

The Dodgers selected Kershaw with the seventh pick in the first round of the 2006 MLB draft. The 34-year-old lefty has been hugely successful with his sharp breaking balls, good command, and unique pitching form. In my opinion, Kershaw can break the batter's timing by his pitching form, whose herky-jerky motion gets the batters off balance.

The Dodgers' star took the pitcher's Triple Crown in 2011: the earned run average title (2.28), winningest pitcher (21), and most strikeouts (248). In 2014, he recorded the most wins(21) and a 1.77 ERA to win the National League MVP. Kershaw received the National League Gold Glove Award in 2011 and the four-time Warren Spahn Award for a left-handed pitcher with the best performance in a single season.

The nine-time All-Star has marked 197-87 with a 2.48 ERA, having struck out 2807 in 401 game appearances in 15 big league seasons. We may be able to see him as a member of the USA team in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
