2023 WBC: Star Player VOL.4: Paul Goldschmidt, possible player to join the USA

Today's player is the St.rouis Cardinals' slugger Paul  Goldschmidt, who participated in the previous WBC.


Goldschmidt joined the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 8th round of the 2009 MLB Draft and made his big league debut in 2011. In the following year, he became the regular first baseman for Arizona.


The right-handed slugger hit .302 with 36 homers and 125 RBIs to lead the National League in 2013. He has already had 315 shots with his 35th of this season. 


The big bat has won the NL Silver Slugger Award five times, including the 2022 and Gold Glove Awards four times. His five-time Silver Slugger is the most in MLB among first basemen.


The 35-year-old slugger showed no sign of slowing down because he powerfully finished this season with .317 his batting average(3rd in the NL), 35 homers(5th in the NL), 115 RBIs(2nd in the NL), .404(2nd in the NL), .578(1st in the NL), .982(1st in the NL) and 324(2nd in the NL).

He will be a great addition to the USA of the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
