2023 WBC Star player Vol.9, Trea Turner, "Keen baseball sense"-Possible player for the USA-

Today's player is one of the best utility players, Trea Turner, who can join the USA in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He mainly plays as a shortstop but as an outfielder as well.

Trea Turner was drafted by the San Diego Padres with the 13th pick in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft. The Padres traded Turner to the Washington Nationals for a three-team trade in December.

The 29-year player made his big league debut in 2015 and batted.342 with 33 stolen bases and an OPS of .937, finishing second in the National League(NL) Rookie of the Year vote.

Since then, the two-time All-Star has played a key role as a central player on the Nationals. He first led the league in stolen bases in 2018 and contributed to the Nationals' first World Series title in 2019.

In 2020, the shortened season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the right-handed hitter had a high performance with an OPS of .982 and the most hits of 78  in the NL.

In the middle of 2020, Turner was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers and became the NL batting champion with .328 and hit 195 to be his second hit leader.

Turner's hitting performance was in the higher part of the ranking to win his first Silver Slugger Award this season. In addition, he has had three cycle hits in his career to tie for the most in MLB.

Our baseball analyst commented about him, "he is a utility player with a keen baseball sense. He makes me excited whenever I see him, having an atmosphere to do something interesting."
