Cubs could get Akiyama.

The Chicago Cubs is moving for acquisition of Japanese outfielder, Shogo Akiyama, Cubs Insider reported yesterday. They seem to have confirmed it at the Winter Meetings in San Diego.
Cubs would be considering a deal of two years and around $10 million. 



​Akiyama is a high-OBP hitter as a left-handed batter and evaluates his competent fielding in center even if his age of 32 is over the hill of an athlete. Although the $5 million AAV is the same amount he is seeking, the two years is one year less than he is looking for. 
If the Cubs release outfielder, Nickloas Castellanos, whose defense was weak last season and fail to acquire Whit Merrifield from the Royals, they could get Akiyama quickly. 

Also,  it is said that the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cincinnati Reds apart from the cubs are interested in Akiyama, according to some media in America.

シカゴカブスが日本人外野手の秋山翔吾選手に関心を持っている、とカブスインサイダーが昨日、報じている。
アメリカ・サンディゴで行われているウィンターミーティングでいくつかの情報ルートから確認したようだ。
レポートによると、秋山選手獲得のために、2年約10億ドルでの契約を検討しているとのことだ。

彼は32歳であり、アスリートとしてのピークは過ぎつつあるかもしれないが、左打者として高い出塁率とセンターでの高い守備力を評価されている。年俸としては、彼の当初の希望と同等としながらも、年数としては1年短い。もし、カブスが右翼手のニコラス・カステヤノスを手放し、ロイヤルズのウィット・メリフィールド外野手の獲得に失敗した場合、秋山選手を素早く獲得する可能性もあるとしている。

また秋山選手については、カブスの他、アリゾナダイヤモンドバックス、シンシナティ・レッズも興味を示していると言われていると現地メディアが報じている。
