The Chicago Cubs pitcher, Yu Darvish, made his Cactus League debut this spring season. The Chicago Cubs had an exhibition match against the Milwaukee Brewers at Sloan Park, Arizona on February 29 local time.

As a starter, the righty escaped the first inning without any run after he was hit a homer by the Brewers lead-off batter, Orlando Arcia. The 33-year-old stably had no runs in the second inning.

This day, he gave up just one run(one ER) and 2 hits, having three strikeouts in two frames.

Darvish tried his six pitches like a four-seam fastball, two-seam fastball, cutter, hard cutter, slider, and Knuckle-curveball in the game.

“I have to make sure my routine is right.” He said, “I’ve shown my power curve over my nine years here, and no one has hit well against that pitch,” Darvish said. “So, I can show it any time I want.” So, he looked satisfied.

Also, his fastball sat at 94-96 mph and topped out at 98 mph. He totally had good pitching with his wide array of pitches.

先発したダルビッシュ投手は、初回、先頭打者のオーランド・アルシアに本塁打を浴びたものの、その後は無失点で切り抜けた。２回は三者凡退に抑え、危なげない投球を見せた。

この日、ダルビッシュ投手は２イニングスを投げて、１本塁打を含む被安打２、自責点１、３奪三振の結果だった。

ダルビッシュ投手は、「自分のルーティンが正しいことを確かめたかった」と６球種を試した。さらに、「９年間（投げてきた）パワーカーブを見せた。誰も上手く打つことはできなかった。いつでも投げたいときに投げることができる」とカーブに満足気な様子だった。

またストレートの球速は、平均して１５１キロ−１５５キロで最速は１５８キロをマーク。多彩な球種で好投を見せた。
