Ex-Red Sox Pitcher Koji Uehara Becomes A Youtuber
元レッドソックスの投手、上原浩治氏がユーチューバーに。

Former Boston Red Sox pitcher, Koji Uehara, who retired from professional baseball last May, has just made his Youtube channel. Uehara announced it by himself on the channel on January 31. 

The title of the channel is “The baseball academy by Koji Uehara.” 

The first uploading was done yesterday and Uehara commented on it about why to open his channel, “Nine months have passed since my retirement. I am going and return between Japan and the US. I want to have my channel to contribute to the growth of the baseball player’s population and connect with everyone (my fans) .”

The number of Youtube channel former professional baseball players are running, has recently increased. the Chicago Cubs pitcher, Yu Darvish, is using Youtube to talk about baseball and his daily life to his fans as an active player. 

The decline in the baseball player’s population is one of the topics KAISPO taking up in the near future, which could be a serious problem. I have wariness for it. 

I don’t know about what kind of content he is trying to make, but I will also be happy if boys and girls come to like baseball among many sports.

ボストン・レッドソックスなどで投手として活躍した上原浩治氏がYoutubeを開始することを1月31日、自身のチャンネルで公表した。

１回目のアップロードは昨日で、「引退して９ヶ月。日米を行き来している。時間ができたのでyoutubeを始めたい。最近は野球人口が減っているので、動画で野球人口増加に貢献したいことと皆さんと接点を持ちたいと思った」とチャンネル開設の意図を語っている。

最近は元プロ野球選手によるYoutubeチャンネルが増えてきた。シカゴ・カブスのダルビッシュ投手は現役選手としてYoutubeを活用している。

上原氏の言う、野球人口の減少については、KAISPOでも今後取り上げたいテーマで、私も危機感を持っている。

上原氏のチャンネルが今後、どういったコンテンツになるかは分からないが、少年少女が数あるスポーツの中から、野球もいいなと思ってもらえるようになれば、大変嬉しく思う。
