Judge finally gets over final wall, No.62, now, new home run KING / 10.4.2022 EST

Two doubleheader games between the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees were held at Globe Life Field, Arlington, Texas, on October 4, EST. New York won the first match with a one-run victory over Texas, 5-4. On the other hand, the Rangers took the second to win a one-run nail-biter, 3-2. 

Yankees superstar, Aaron Judge, started the first game as a lead-off and designated hitter. He ended up with no homers and 1 for five. 

Judge also started the second of the doubleheader as a lead-off hitter and right fielder. 

The moment came just after the first pitch. Judge sharply hit a slider ball in his first at-bat in the top of the first, and his batted ball went into the left stands for his 62nd homer, describing a beautiful parabola. He finally broke the American League single-season home run record over Roger Maris for the first time in sixty-one years. 

More than 38,000 fans in the stadium got excited by the historic slugger and gave him a standing ovation despite an away game.
His teammates came out of the dugout and praised the splendid achievement with hugs after Judge rounded the bases in a jubilant mood. 

The historical shot was the first in six games since he had his 61st record-tying homer with Roger Maris in 1961. The 30-year-old player went homerless during the six games as the opposing pitchers threw very carefully at him. 

Judge moved up to seventh place with No.62 for home runs in a season in big league history and became a new American League's single-season home run king. The Yankees have just one game left. His next shot ties Summy Sosa with No.63 in 1,999.

ジャッジついに超えた最後の壁、６２号で新たなホームラン王誕生

　テキサス・レンジャーズとニューヨーク・ヤンキースのダブルヘッダーが１０月４日テキサス州アーリントンのグローブライフフィールドに行われた。第１試合はヤンキースが５−４で１点差ゲームをものにした。一方、第２試合はレンジャーズが３−２で接戦をものにした。

　ヤンキースのスーパースター、アーロン・ジャッジ選手は第１試合は１番指名打者で先発出場したが、ホームランは打てず、５打数１安打に終わった。

　第２試合は１番ライトで先発出場した。

　その瞬間はプレイボール直後に訪れた。ジャッジ選手は１回表の第１打席で、相手投手のスライダーを鋭く振り抜いた。快音を残した打球は、美しい放物線を描きレフトスタンダへ吸い込まれた。苦しみながら生み出した第６２号ホームランは、ついにロジャー・マリスの記録を６１年ぶりに塗り替えるアメリカンリーグシーズン最多本塁打をもたらした。

　敵地にも関わらず、３８０００人を越えるスタジアムのファンは歴史的スラッガーを前に熱狂し、スタンディングオーベーションで拍手喝采した。

　チームメイトはその瞬間、ダグアウトを飛び出し、スタジアムが騒然とする中、ベースを１周してホームを踏んだジャッジ選手とハグを交わし快挙を讃えた。

　１９６１年にロジャー・マリス氏が記録した最多本塁打に並ぶ６１号ホームランを打ってから６試合ぶりの一発。孤高のスラッガーは、この６試合、相手投手の警戒もあり本塁打が出ず足踏みが続いた。

　ジャッジ選手は、この６２号本塁打によって、アメリカンリーグ年間最多本塁打王になったと同時に年間本塁打数歴代７位にランクアップした。

　残り１試合とはなったが、次の１本が出れば、１９９９年に６３本を打ったサミー・ソーサ氏に並ぶ。
