Judge to continue two hot races,
​a historical homer and Triple Crown

A three-game set between New York and Baltimore opened at Yankee Stadium on September 30. Yankees' 61-homer hitter, Aaron Judge, started the first game as a lead-off hitter and right fielder. Judge, who made the American League home run record with one more shot, went 1 for 2 with a single and two walks. More than 47,000 fans in the stadium held their breath to witness his record-breaking home run. However, the historic moment was carried over the second match. Baltimore's fourth place in the American League Wild Card race still has a slight chance for the playoffs. They gave the historical slugger an intentional walk to avoid more runs in a 2-1 lead with a runner on the second and one out in the eighth. The Orioles' reliever, Felix Bautista, retired the following batters.

Aaron Judge is aiming at not only the American League single-season home run record but also a Triple Crown. He will be sure to have a Home run and RBI leader. But, he is keen competition with the Twins' first baseman, Luiz Arraez, in batting average. Arraez with .315 is holding a narrow lead over Judge with .314 after the game. Each at-bat that the 30-year-old star player has is increasingly becoming important in five games left.
