Story:
Today's player's resume concerns the St.Louis Cardinals starting pitcher, Adam Wainwright. Wainwright is from Brunswick, Georgia, and will represent Team USA in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

The KAISPO's baseball analyst said,
"Wainwright is a finesse pitcher who combines fast and slow pitches. His unique ability is a curveball with significant vertical movement with his height of 6' 7'', marking 195 career wins(tied for 132nd all-time) and 2147 strikeouts(71st all-time) in his 17 career seasons. His HR/9 in 2022 was also .751, the 8th best in the NL without a higher than a 93-mph fastball. He helped the Cardinals win the World Series title as a closer in 2006. So, his all career is with St.Louis. Many fans will want to see the World Series with him again. The veteran righty will enter his 18th season in 2023."

Adam Wainwright was drafted by the Atlanta Braves with the 29th overall pick in the 1st round of the 2000 MLB draft. On December 13th, 2003, he was traded by the Braves with Ray King and Jason Marquis for J.D. Drew and Eli Marrero to the St.Louis Cardinals.

Wainwright made his major league debut against the New York Mets on September 11th, 2005, pitching in the ninth and allowing two hits, three runs, and a homer.

In 2006, the right-hander joined the Cardinals' opening roster as a reliever as he pitched well in relief during spring training. On May 24th, he smashed a home run on the first pitch he saw in his first major-league plate appearance against the San Francisco Giants. Adam positioned a closer late in the season when a regular closer Jason Isringhausen got injured. He finished the 2006 regular season with 2-1, an ERA of 3.12, 17 holds, and three saves in all 61 relief appearances. Also, the Cardinals advanced to the postseason, in which Wainwright impressively picked up one win(no losses) and four saves with no runs and 15 strikeouts in 9 relives to lift St.Luis to its 10th World Series title. He shut the door in the final matches of the NLDS, NLCS, and World Series.

The 41-year-old skillful starter became the Cardinals' starting rotation in 2007 and had the best performance among their starters with 14-12, a 3.70 ERA in 32 games. Since that year, he has amazingly performed as a starting pitcher for the Cardinals with 12-time double-digit wins, including two-time 20 victories in his career.

At the end of the 2022 season, three-time All-Star righty has indeed been 195-117 with a 3.38, a 1.22 WHIP, and 2147 strikeouts in 457 contests and has won the Gold Glove Award twice and the 2017 Silver Slugger in his 17 campaigns.
