Major Leaguer resume Vol.84/WBC Player’s resume Vol.70:Francisco Lindor(New York Mets) :Major Candidate for Team Puerto Rico:“Beautiful play and laser beam!”

■Today's player;
Today's player's resume concerns the New York Met's shortstop, Francisco Lindor. Lindor was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and will join Team Puerto Rico in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

■The KAIPSO's baseball analyst comments;
“Lindor is a top-five-tool shortstop who has won many titles. He is a powerful switch hitter to hit homers from both the right and left sides and has smashed two digits long balls every season since his debut, excluding the shortened season of 2020. Also, he has marked 20+ homers in 5 seasons. The shortstop ranger can cover a lot of ground and throw a cannonball to first from deep in the hole between short and third.I look forward to seeing his high-level performances in all aspects: hitting, defense, and base running.”

■Story;
Francisco Lindor was selected by the Cleveland Indians with the 8th overall pick in the 1st round of the 2011 MLB draft.

On June 14, 2015, Lindor made his major league debut against the Detroit Tigers, appearing as a pinch hitter to replace DH David Murphy in the seventh and striking out swinging off Lefty Blaine Hardy. Lindor, however, produced a sharp single to the right for the first of his career on his second plate in the 9th, facing righty Joakim Soria. He finished his first season with .313, 12 homers, and 51 RBIs in 99 games.

In 2016, the skillful infielder had a magical season. Across 158 contests, he excellently slashed .301/.358./435 with 15 long balls and 78 RBIs, naming his first All-Star, Gold Glove, and Silver Slugger as a shortstop. In the postseason, with a batting average of .310, he helped Cleveland advance to the World Series, but the team lost to the Chicago Cubs. In 2018, Lindor recorded .277 with his career-most 38 home runs and 92 RBIs, the league-most 129 runs, receiving his second Silver Slugger Award.

Before the 2021 campaign, the five-tool Puerto Rican moved to the Mets, making a ten-year deal. He has been playing as a shortstop to lead the team.

At the end of the 2022 season, Lindor has batted .277/.342/.474 with 184 home runs, 581 RBIs, and 125 stolen bases over 1063 games in his eight big league seasons.
