Red Sox Manager Alex Cora Leaves The Club 
レッドソックスの監督、アレックス・コーラが辞任

The Boston Red Sox issued a statement Tuesday that manager, Alex Cora has just left the club.

Cora used to be a bench coach of the Houston Astros in their 2017 World Champion season with a sign stealing. According to sources, Cora is said to lead the the Astros’ sign cheating and then, brought the system to the Red Sox, who had the 2018 World Series title. It means that he could be a ringleader on a series of scandals. 

The statement is saying, “We (Owner John Henry, Chairman Tom Wemer, CEO Sam Kennedy, and Alex Cora) collectively decided that it would not be possible for Alex to effectively lead the club going forward and we mutually agreed to part ways.” 

The decision making just after the yesterday’s announcement of the Astros’ punishment from the MLB, seems to anticipate the near future events meaning the management of Boston have already known the whole picture on the Red Sox’ sign stealing scandal. 

Actually the MLB announcement for the Astros on Monday, did not mention Alex Cora's penalty. So, the club seems to forestall  result  of investigation and prepare for the regular season quickly. 

Also, Cora is expressing his gratitude to the managements, the players, the coaching staff, entire organization and his family on the statement.

レッドソックスの監督、アレックス・コーラが辞任

ボストン・レッドソックスは、現地時間火曜日、アレックス・コーラ監督の辞任を知らせる声明を発表した。

コーラは、サイン盗み騒動の渦中のヒューストン・アストロズが優勝した２０１７年に同チームのベンチコーチを務めていた。いくつかのソースによると、コーラがアストロズのサイン盗みを主導し、翌年レッドソックスの監督に就任後も、そういったシステムを導入したと言われている。２０１８年はレッドソックスがワールドチャンピオンになっている。それはつまり、コーラが今回の一連のサイン盗みスキャンダルの首謀者であるとされている。

その声明では、「コーラを含め球団首脳が話し合って、今後、コーラがチームを率いていくのは効果的ではなく、お互いの合意で（コーラの辞任を）決めた」とされている。

昨日のアストロズに対する罰則声明発出直後のこの意思決定は、来たるべき（レッドソックスに対する）罰則を先読みした印象が拭えない。つまり、球団首脳は既に今回のサイン盗み事件の全容を知っていると言うことだ。

実際、昨日のMLBの声明では、コーラについてのペナルティへの言及はなかった。だから、球団としては、（MLBの）調査結果の先手を打ち、また早く今シーズンの準備をしたい意図に見える。

また、声明では、コーラは、球団のマネジメント、選手、コーチ、球団や家族等に対し、感謝の意を述べている。
