Ryan Cook Playing for Yomiuri agrees to a minor contract with Marlins

Ryan Cook, played for the Yomiuri Giants last season, has agreed to a minor contract with the Miami Marlins. His annual salary will be worth $750,000 plus permanence incentives $250,000 in the case of being promoted to Major, according to Daily Sports of Jan-8.

Cook is right-handed pitcher and pitched for the D-backs, Athletics, Red Sox, and Mariners before coming to Japan. The 32-year-old went 15-13 for six MLB seasons with a 3.58 ERA.

In the 2018 off-season, he signed a one-year deal worth 143 million yen with the Yomiuri of NPB. But, he had only 0-2 with 6 saves and a 4.80 ERA in 13 game appearances because of the injury of the right elbows and the backside of left thigh.
