Today's player's resume concerns the New York Yankees' reliever and closer, Jonathan Loaisiga, who can represent Team Nicaragua in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and is now 28.

KAISPO's baseball analyst commented,
"Loaisiga is one of the 100-mph fastball pitchers. He has a fighting spirit and good command. On the other hand, he can pitch a fastball of bullets, keeping calm even in a jam. So he is suited as a reliever and closer. Loaisiga is a valuable power for the Yanks.”

Jonathan Loaisiga signed the San Francisco Giants to a minor league contract in 2012 and was released due to his injury on May 30, 2015. Then, he had a minor league contract with the New York Yankees on February 9, 2016.

The right-handed pitcher made his major league debut on June 15, 2018, in a game against the Tampa Bay Rays, in which he took the mound as a starter and pitched five scoreless innings on three hits, fanning six to earn his first career victory. He was the 15th Nicaraguan to appear in a big league game and the first Yankee.

The 28-year-old Nicaraguan player marked 2-2 with a 4.55 ERA through 15 appearances in 2019. His best season was in 2021 when he recorded 9-4 with a 2.17 ERA and five saves across 57 contests as a reliever. Jonathan also struck out four batters, including a dropped third strike in the seventh inning against the Boston Red Sox at Fen Way Park on June 25 to become the first Yankee to achieve the feat since 2012. Only two other Yanks pitchers have struck out four in an inning: A.J. Burnett in 2011 against the Colorado Rockies and Phil Hughes in 2012 facing the Toronto Blue Jays.

The 100-mph pitcher has notched 18-9 with a 3.55 and seven saves in 143 games, including 11 starts overall in his big league career.
