The 2023 WBC Star player’s movie resume Vol.32:Aaron Whitefield (Los Angeles Angels MiLB affiliate): Major Candidate for Team Australia: “Australian speedster!”

Today's player's resume concerns an outfielder, Aaron Whitefield playing for the Los Angeles Angels Minor League Affiliate. He is an Australian-born player and will commit to playing for Team Australia in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

The KAISPO baseball analyst commented,
​"Whitefield is an outfielder who is a speeder and an excellent defensive man who has also delivered X-base hits. In 2022, he was promoted to the major and appeared in five games where he went hitless for his 11 at-bats. Although he will start the 2023 season in the minor, I hope he goes up to the roster soon, appealing his total power."

Whitefield signed the Minnesota Twins to a minor league contract as a free agent  in 2015 after playing in the Australian Baseball League. On July 5th, 2020, he made his major league debut in a game versus the Chicago White Sox as a pinch runner to replace Eddie Rosario in the top of the ninth.

The 26-year-old right-handed hitter made a minor contract with the Los Angeles Angels as a free agent in 2021. He was promoted to the major after playing the Doble A and made his Angels debut against the Tampa Bay Rays on May 9th, 2022. He returned to the Double-A after appearing in five major league games from May 9th to May 14th with  0-for-11.

Whitefield has slashed.245/.312./356 with 34 long balls, 213 RBIs, and 180 stolen bases in 547 games in his minor league career at the end of the 2022 season.
