Who is Next Red Sox Manager?
次のレッドソックスの監督は誰になるのか？

There is only about a month until a spring training. The Boston Red Sox, whose manager Alex Cora has just parted ways, need to decide next manager in a hurry. MLB.com is making a list of the internal and external candidates. I will introduce the Internal, who has higher possibility to be the next. 

Firstly, Jon Rornicke, who has been a bench coach under Alex Cora over last two seasons. He was trusted by Cora and the players. Therefore, his managing team could be the most realistic. He had also managed the Brewers from 2011 to 2015. He could be a popular option for the fans. 

Secondly, Jason Varitek, who was a former Red Sox catcher and captain and two-time World Champion. To begin with, he has been said to be a manager candidate since retired. He knows a lot about the game plan and pitching despite having worked for the club as a special assistant to the president of baseball operations since 2012. 

Carlos Febles, who was a third base coach and infield instructor the last two seasons, has involved in the club for thirteen years. Febles managed over 900 games in the Minor League. He is very open-minded, so, the players would be easy to feel close to him. He had played for the Royals over six years. 

Billy McMillion, who was a manager of Triple A under the Red Sox, would be a candidate. He has experience of a manager of single A as well and knowledge about outfield and base running. McMillion had played in the Majors over six years. 

The Red Sox still waiting for penalties related to the sign-stealing scandal from MLB, is under the unclear conditions. There would be a high possibility that one of internal candidates is named considering approaching the spring camp and the players’ mental turmoil.

スプリングトレーニングまで１ヶ月を切った中でのサイン盗み騒動だが、レッドソックスとしては、早期に監督を決めなくてはいけない。MLB.com は球団内外部からの候補者をリストアップしているが、今日は可能性が高い内部の候補者を紹介したい。

まずは、過去2シーズン、ベンチコーチを務めたロン・レニキーで、辞任したアレックス・コーラの信頼も厚かった人物だ。選手との信頼関係も深い。それゆえ、最も現実的な監督起用と考えられる。彼は、ブリュワーズで２０１１年から２０１５年まで監督経験を持つ。

次に、レッドソックスで、キャチャーでキャプテンを務めたジャイソン・バリデック。彼は２度のワールドチャンピオンを経験している。そもそも彼は現役引退以来、監督候補とされいる。２０１２年以来、会長特別補佐の肩書きで球団で働いているものの、ゲームプランニングやピッチングに明るく、ファンにとっても人気となる選択となるだろう。

三塁コーチと内野コーチを過去2年務めたカルロス・フェブルズも１３年間、球団に関わっている。彼はマイナーリーグで９００試合を超える指揮をとっており、また彼の気さくな性格は選手には最適だ。現役時代は６年間、ロイヤルズでプレーした。

昨年、トリプルAを指揮したビリー・マクミロンも候補に挙がっている。彼はシングルAの監督経験もある。外野や走塁の指導に明るい。メジャーで６年間プレーした。

MLBからどのような処分が下されるか、不透明な要因はあるが、時間的な面や選手らの動揺を考えるとすでに選手達と近いコーチが選ばれる可能性が高そうだ。
